Biography

Energetic hip-hop duo Northern League kicked off their career not with an album or single, but with a slew of soundtrack appearances. Members A.B. -- named after One Life to Live soap opera character Asa "Ace" Buchanan -- and Keith Lo met while attending high school in their home of New Haven, CT. After graduating and shopping their demos around a bit they formed a strong relationship with MTV and landed songs on a number of the cable network's shows, including The Real World, Yo Momma, Bam's UnHoly Union, and Parental Control. Soon they were branching out to shows on other networks -- ESPN's Tilt, HBO's Entourage, and Showtime's Weeds, to name a few -- and into the world of film when one of their tracks was used in the 2006 release The Architect. In 2007 one of their songs was used in the film Stomp the Yard, and by the end of the year they had collaborated with producer Frederick Sargolini for the children's Christmas album Yo! It's Christmas, released under the name of Yo Yo Yo Kids. ~ David Jeffries, All Music Guide
