Biography

A side project of Avett Brothers bassist Bob Crawford, New Jersey Transient released their first album in late 2006 on Ramseur Recordings. The self-titled affair featured Crawford on bass, guitars, and vocals, and the talents of Seth Avett, Daniel Coolik, and Mike Cuzulak. For touring and performance purposes, the band was expanded to include Bus. member Leon Godwin on guitars, harmonica, and vocals; Brian Godwin on drums; Ingrid Stenzel on accordion, keyboards, clarinet, and vocals; and Joe Kwon on cello. Preparations were then made to get these musicians into the studio to put their particular sounds to tape. A multifaceted band touching on pop standards, jazz arrangements, and straight-up rock, New Jersey Transient -- and their debut -- won across-the-board praise. ~ Chris True, All Music Guide
