Canada's Neighbourhood Council are a progressive pop band formed when its members were still shy of their 20th birthdays. Creating a quick buzz in its home of Calgary, Alberta, the four-piece outfit got its career off to a good start by winning the youth category at the Calgary Folk Music Festival, and soon after was releasing its own EPs. The group's first, Set Pieces, was critically well received, and drew comparisons to the Slumberland label's sound. ~ Chris True, All Music Guide
