More like a solo project for lead singer and songwriter Vincent Rocco, Multiplug was a "band" built around the talented Rocco's British-flavored '90s alt rock. In their brief career, the group released only one disc, 1999's Oswald Road. This debut was a somewhat promising collection of ten road modern rock anthems. Mostly mid-tempo rockers, Oswald Road had a couple decent ballads thrown in for good measure. Filling out the group's roster was Clive Dickinson on drums, former member of the glam/punk Beat Angels Tommy Caradonna on bass, and Jon Morris helped Rocco out on guitars. Oswald Road was produced by Marc Waterman, who had worked with numerous '90s British phenoms, such as Ash and Elastica. Waterman proved to be an integral part of Multiplug, playing a major role in defining their sound. Barely released on A&M Records in 1999, Oswald Road received little publicity or attention as the group's record company was being folded into the music behemoth Universal, which had purchased A&M's parent company Polygram. Despite some crafty songwriting and a few memorable hooks, the lack of a marketing effort and the group's lack of identity spelled the end for Oswald Road and Multiplug with it. While each member was occasionally active before their tenure with the group, not much has been heard of from Rocco and company since the demise of Multiplug. ~ Vincent Jeffries, All Music Guide
