Mount Everest Trio was a '70s Swedish free jazz combo helmed by saxophonist Gilbert Holmstrom and featured drummer Conny Sjokvist and bassist Kjell Jannson. The trio's output included covers of Ayler, Gary Bartz and Ornette Coleman works, along with original compositions and plenty of improvisation. As part of John Corbett's Unheard Music Series, Atavistic re-issued Mount Everest Trio's 1975 album Waves From Albert Ayler with previously unreleased studio material. ~ Heather Phares, All Music Guide
