Philadelphia indie rock trio Moped comprised vocalist/guitarist Bret Tobias, vocalist/drummer Kara Lafty, and bassist Bob Vanstone, and debuted in 1994 with "Squalla," a contribution to the Protein Records compilation EP America Starts Here. After a handful of singles, the group issued their lone LP It Won't Sound Any Better Tomorrow on the Summershine label in 1996; upon completing the 1997 single "Naked, Sharp and Plastic," Moped disbanded, with Lafty going on to form Sonny Sixkiller and Tobias resurfacing in the Bigger Lovers. The rarities compilation, The Horrible Truth About Moped, was released posthumously in 1998. ~ Jason Ankeny, All Music Guide
