Watford, England's Mohair feature Pete Baker (drums, brass), Tom Billington (guitar, vocals), Alex Richards (keyboards, vocals), and Tim Slade (bass, vocals). The members of the rollicking rock quartet have played in various bands since their early teens, most notably a Commitments cover band. By 2000, Mohair were born and the four childhood friends were eager to make their rock & roll dreams a reality. A quick deal with M1 Records in 2002 put Mohair on nearly every U.K. festival stage by summer 2004; however, the fit didn't seem quite right. Mohair went on to form their own Ear Candy imprint in 2005; singles such as "End of the Line" and "Stranded (In the Middle of Nowhere)" arrived before the year's end. In spring 2006, Mohair made their American performance debut at the annual South by Southwest convention in Austin, TX. Small Talk was slated for a September release on Grunion. ~ MacKenzie Wilson, All Music Guide
