Perhaps best known for his appearance on the 2004 reality vocal competition Rockstar:INXS, singer/pianist Mig Ayesa was born in the Philippines and raised in Sydney, Australia. Interested in music from a young age, it wasn't until Ayesa was introduced to jazz piano in his teens that he began writing and performing his own music. Prior to his appearance on Rockstar: INXS, Ayesa had been a member of various bands around Sydney and even had some luck as an actor. Logically perhaps, Ayesa's talents led him to England in 2001, and there he secured roles in various musical theater productions including Ritchie Valens in Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story, Rent, and others. Though he ultimately only made it to the final three competing to become the new lead singer for INXS on Rockstar, his intimate performance of Peter Frampton's "Baby, I Love Your Way" was a highlight of the show and won Ayesa many fans. He released his solo debut, Mig, on Decca in 2007. ~ Matt Collar, All Music Guide
