Power pop specialists Meow Meow were born in 1998 as a studio project for Kirk Hellie and Chris O'Brien. Upon the demise of their individual bands, Pink Noise Test and Brian Jones Was Murdered, the duo decided to pursue the group full-time, employing drummer Norm Block, bassist Michael Orendy, and engineer/co-producer Eddie Ashworth to complete their full-length debut. With a sound steeped in Beatles-esque studio trickery, 1990s alt rock, and hallucinogenic dream pop, Meow Meow released Snow Gas Bones for Devil In The Woods in spring 2004. ~ James Christopher Monger, All Music Guide
