Lovers Love Haters was founded by singer/guitarist Debora Cohen, formerly of the post-punk-inspired band the Organ. Cohen left the group before they split in 2006 and took a hiatus from making music, but eventually realized she needed that in her life. She moved from Vancouver to England and began working on Lovers Love Haters, recruiting James Thomas, Mar Sellars, Thomas Wykes and James Hoare to flesh out the band. They recorded a self-titled, six-song EP that recalled the Organ’s jangly, melancholy pop, which they self-released in fall 2009. ~ Heather Phares, All Music Guide
