Lotion had released only two seven-inch singles ("Head" and "Tear," both on Kokopop) before the group recorded Full Isaac for spinArt in 1994. The album received glowing reviews from alternative outlets in America and England, including album of the year distinction from The Village Voice. The band -- comprising vocalist Tony Zajkowski, guitarist Jim Ferguson, bassist Bill Ferguson and drummer Rob Youngberg -- toured America and Europe (with Pavement, Throwing Muses and Mercury Rev), recorded a song for the Frank Sinatra tribute album Chairman of the Board, and released the EP Juggernaut on Big Cat. A second EP, Agnew's Funeral, followed in late 1995 before Lotion released Nobody's Cool early the following year. The Telephone Album followed in 1998. ~ John Bush, All Music Guide
