Biography

Based in Rome but hailing from Matera, Le Mani formed in 2005 from the ashes of the crossover band No Man's Land and the more melody-oriented Ar.Ca.Dia.. The line-up included singer Luigi Scanargella, guitarist Antonio "Toto" Marcucci, keyboardist Angelo Perna, Francesco "Ciccio" Stoia on bass and Marco Pisanelli on drums. After a period of intense touring, the band signed to Universal Italy, who put them into the hands of a team composed of manager Daniele Barlocci and producer Stefano Cenci. Preceded by the single "Sei come sei", their first album In fondo was released in February 2007. Thanks to his blend of easy melodies, loud but lightweight rock and a touch of electronics, it easily reached a wide audience, composed mostly of teenagers. A success confirmed by the following singles, "L'ultima lettera"and "Semplice distrazione". Another single, "In fondo, followed in early 2008. ~ Aurelio Pasini, All Music Guide
