Biography

Mixing queer history, performance art, a theatrical live show, and a wicked sense of humor in their music, Toronto's electro-queercore group Kids on TV feature bassist/vocalist John Caffery, drummer/percussionist/vocalist Minus Smile, guitarist Wolf, and vocalist/video artist Roxanne Luchak. The group's frequent collaborators include Maggie MacDonald, also of the Hidden Cameras and Republic of Safety. "36 Pills," which appeared on the 2004 compilation Toronto Is Great, was one of the first tracks Kids on TV recorded; the following year, their remix of Lesbians on Ecstacy's "Bitchsy" was included on the Giggles in the Dark collection. In 2006, their witty single "Breakdance Hunx" was included on the Chicks on Speed set Girl Monster and on a vinyl-only EP of its own. In spring 2007, their full-length debut, Mixing Business with Pleasure, arrived. ~ Heather Phares, All Music Guide
