Biography

Formed in 1985, Kassierer (or ‘male cashiers' translated from the German) was a highly satirical punk band that took stabs at politics, modern society, sexual morays, and organization of, well, just about any kind. The band has ‘earned' the officially harmful to youth tag for some of their work, but have managed to carry the punk rock flag for more than twenty years uninterrupted, which was pretty impressive for a band of their ilk. Their first album, Fit Durch Suizid (or Fit Through Suicide) was released in 1987, and in 2006, Die Kassierer released the aptly titled The Worst Thing Is When the Beer Is Gone. ~ Chris True, All Music Guide
