Born in London, Kane Brett Robinson (better known as Kano) is an English rapper known for his wit and technique on the mike. Signed to 679 Recordings, he is a member of East London's N.A.S.T.Y. Crew. His first single, "Boys Love Girls," became a hit on the U.K. grime scene and served as a springboard for his solo deal with 679. In 2005 Kano released his second single, "Typical Me," which reached number 22 on the U.K. singles charts and remains Kano's highest charting single to date. On June 27, 2005, Kano's highly anticipated debut album, Home Sweet Home, was released. The week the album was issued, it was the highest new entry, debuting inside the U.K. Top 40 at number 36. Toward the end of 2005 Kano released a mixtape, Beats & Bars, which was only made available at his concerts. He released another mixtape, Kano's Mixtape, in April of 2006. London Town was released on September 10, 2007, preceded by the "This Is the Girl" single, featuring Craig David. ~ Vincent Thomas, All Music Guide
