Music director of the 1969 cult film, Hells Angels ‘69, John D'Andrea has gone on to an illustrious career in film and television. His underscore for popular TV show, Baywatch, co-written with Jim Jamison, Cory Lewis and Joe Henry, received anASCAP award in 1995. Two years later, ASCAP presented him with an award for having "the highest number of performance credits on television in the category of dramatic underscore." He had previously received an award for his orchestration of the 1987 film, Dirty Dancing. D'Andrea initially attracted attention with his arranging of such Billy Joe Royal hits as "Down In The Boondocks" and "I Never Promised You A Rose Garden". After working on the music of such exploitive 1980s movies as Savage Streets, Hunter's Blood, Body Slam and Dangerous Curves, he served as music director of the 1989 TV movie, Swimsuit. His soundtrack for the film led to an invitation to participate with the score-writing of Baywatch. While films continue to dominate much of his attention, d"Andrea continues to work in the recording studio. He was arranger for the Reel Burt Bacharach and Pat Boone's Family Christmas, the engineer for Alyssa Milano's Best In The World and producer of Leif Garrett's Collection. ~ Craig Harris, All Music Guide
