Early-'70s style synth noodling is the stock and trade of this player, one of the few session players on the interesting Stu Nunery album besides the leader himself that did not carve out an extensive discography. The 1973 album was the only release by the reclusive Nunery. The album featured an interesting combination of rock and jazz players such as guitarists John Tropea and Buzzy Feiten with bluegrass players such as fiddler Kenny Kosek and banjoist Eric Weissberg. While ace blues session man James "The Bat" Robinson is sometimes credited with being the keyboardist on the album, touching a synthesizer would have probably killed him; if he wasn't dead already by the time these session players were required to "get thee to a Nunery." ~ Eugene Chadbourne, All Music Guide
