Biography

Born in South Carolina, Jameson Clark started his musical career at an impressionable age. With his mother playing piano at the town church, Clark often sang duets with his brother. At sixteen, he convinced a local beauty pageant he was the perfect entertainment answer between costume changes. Performing various hit country songs at the time, including On The Other Hand by Randy Travis, the sing was instantly a hit. Upon graduating from high school, Clark attended military school at The Citadel. While completing his education, he also would perform with bands weekly each Thursday. A week after graduating from The Citadel in 1993, Clark packed his belongings and headed to Nashville. Purchasing a $80 guitar along the way, he picked up a temporary job looking out at the Ryman Auditorium, the original Grand Ole Opry. He also became a part-time cook at a bar featuring a weekly songwriter circle. After also working with the Alan Jackson fan club, Clark formed his first band in 1995. In 1998, exactly five years after coming to Music Row, Clark inked a publishing deal with BMG Music. He then signed a recording deal with Capitol Records. In 2002, he released his debut album Workin' On A Groove. He has been influenced by country acts like Merle Haggard and George Strait to rock groups like Aerosmith. ~ Jason MacNeil, All Music Guide
