Biography

Flowing inside invigorating scenarios of alternative metal and attaching the reckless ability of vocalist Heather St. Marie to their singular tunes, Hydrovibe provides ferocious and powered themes that count on a cogent guitar section. Assembling in 1995, Hydrovibe swiftly became a reference in Los Angeles' underground scene. Building a consistent reputation and growing a large and faithful fan base, the band secured the supervising works of Loudside Management in 1998. Embodied by vocalist St. Marie, guitarist and programmer Mat Dauzat, Brandon Starns (bass, keyboards), and Charlie Glisan (drums), the four-piece crew were seemingly bound to glory. DJ 1987, formerly known as DJ Lyfe while playing with Incubus, was a later addition to the set in 1999, months before the unit recorded their first demo. Their strong and forceful melodies also seized the attention of the media, including the U.K.'s Metal Hammer, who reviewed the band's demo as the best of the month in their September 2000 issue. Hydrovibe also toured the U.S., supporting acts like Dope, Soulfly, and Taproot. ~ Mario Mesquita Borges, All Music Guide
