A five-piece band from London, Hot Rocket call to mind contemporaries such as Franz Ferdinand and the Bravery. Members Nick (vocals), Mole (guitar), Ben (keyboards), Kev (bass), and Tim (drums) were approached after a gig in early 2007 by Ian Grimble, who offered to help them produce their single "Do Do Do." In addition to recording both "Do Do Do" and an EP, Hot Rocket spent 2007 as residents and co-runners of Communion, a series of shows at the Notting Hill Arts Club. This exposure (and resulting popularity) led to featured artist slots on MSN Live Sessions and XFM and a spot at the 2007 Exit Kernow Festival. "Do Do Do" was released as a single in November 2007, with the band returning to the studio to record new material in January 2008. ~ Katherine Fulton, All Music Guide
