Harvey Sid Fisher is a pretty well known character in Los Angeles, thanks to a strangely funny public access TV spot from the late 1980s. Fisher is seen performing songs (in the Barnes & Barnes/Weird Al Yankovic vein) about such topics as astrology and golf, with an interpretive dancer prancing alongside him, and with all sorts of low-quality, cheesy video special effects added to the performance. Bootlegged copies of the program were traded throughout the country, becoming an underground oddity and introducing Fisher to people outside California (you can buy an actual first generation video copy through an offer in the CD booklet). He's quite an original, a self-described "actor, golfer, golf instructor, one of L.A.'s top 10,000 photographic models and as of August 1994, thirteen years macrobiotic," and has a blank space inside his CD booklet reserved for autographs. His music relies heavily on the often-laughed-at "stiff Casio keyboard sound," but at least Fisher approaches it with a sense of humor. ~ Greg Prato, All Music Guide
