Jimmy Messer, Bill Lefler, Johnny Goudie

Biography

Glam rock has another millennial face in the Texas alternative rock four-piece called Goudie. Signed to Lars Ulrich's Music Company label, Goudie spans an eclectic spectrum of musical influences that compose the initial throw of the band. Frontman Johnny Goudie, guitarist Jimmy Messer, bassist Einar, and drummer Bill Lefler all cite a cluster of musical passions, including Kiss, Bob Dylan, the Pretenders, the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, and Oingo Boingo's Danny Elfman. Such diversity showcases the band's rollicking brash sound and creative makeup on their debut album, Peep Show, released in July 2000. The album includes collaboration credits with Wire Train's Kevin Hunter, Go-Go's guitarist Jane Wiedlin, and guest vocals from singer/songwriter Aimee Mann. ~ MacKenzie Wilson, All Music Guide
