GLOWB are an R&B "boy band" in the tradition of Color Me Badd and Boyz II Men, but one thing that makes them unique is their diverse cultural background. Brothers Ray and Renny hail from the island of St. Marten in the Caribbean, Edge was born and raised in the Netherlands, and Noura was born in Morocco and later moved to Germany. They all met in the clubs of Amsterdam, where they recorded the track "That Girl" with a local DJ. It was early in 2006 when the song began making an impression in Holland and Germany. That same year they met with R&B star Akon while he was in Amsterdam, and soon they were signed to the singer's Konvict Muzik label. The label changed the name of the group's single to "Damn That Girl" and released it worldwide in 2007. ~ David Jeffries, All Music Guide
