Recording for progressive house imprint Hard Hands and later the more sympathetic electro-eccentrics at Botchit & Scarper, Full Moon Scientist was formed by K. Walsh and S. Rowlands for a genuine brand of experimentalism within the confines of electronica. After recording several EPs for Hard Hands during 1995, including the shroom-nightmare EPs Shrub-A-Dub and Mondaymorningdread, the duo released their debut album, The Men in White Coats, also on Hard Hands. Silent for the most part during 1996, Full Moon Scientist returned the following year on Botchit & Scarper, also the home of new-school crusties like the Knights of the Occasional Table, Freq Nasty and Purple Kola. First, the "Doc Hope" single appeared in September 1997, followed by Do We Look Like Comedians? one month later. ~ John Bush, All Music Guide
