Biography

Forgotten Sol are a Seattle-based five-piece band blending funk, hip-hop, and blues for a product that they call soulful bohemian funk. The lyrics of lead singer Cristina Orbé tend to dwell on sociopolitical themes, while guitarist Dan Moore adds discernible rock elements to the group's organic sound. Orbé and Moore founded Forgotten Sol in 2001. Two years later, they released a self-titled EP. In the subsequent years, Orbé and Moore went searching the Northwest for full-time musicians to add to the band. By 2005, they had picked Chris Stromquist (drums); Justin Cayou (bass); and Okanomode, aka SoulChilde (backing vocals). Contradiction, a full-length album engineered and produced by Geoff Stanfield, was released in 2006. Forgotten Sol are known for spirited, dynamic live performances and maintain a heavy presence in the Northwest. ~ Vincent Thomas, All Music Guide
