Fresh-faced Swedish sextet Fibes Oh Fibes hails from the coastal city of Gothenburg, a large college town with an active music scene. However, the band's slick, ultra-melodic pop sound has much more in common with Gothenburg's early-'90s superstars Ace of Base than with the black metal sound more recently associated with the city. Formed in 2002, Fibes Oh Fibes consists of singer and pianist Christian Olsson, guitarist Mathias Nilson, bassist Edvin Edvinsson, drummer Andreas Jensen, and a two-man brass section, Erik Dahl and Andres Boson. The group's self-titled debut EP was released in March 2003, followed by their first full-length album, Still Fresh, in 2004. Featuring the hits "This City's Got No Boulevards" and "One Hour Baby," the album established Fibes Oh Fibes on the mainstream Scandinavian pop scene. Fibes Oh Fibes released their second album, Emotional, in the fall of 2006. ~ Stewart Mason, All Music Guide
