Biography

The Stone Mountain, GA, trio Fast Life Youngstaz burst onto the scene in the summer of 2008 when their party hit "Swag Surfin'" began to dominate Atlanta radio. Members Mook, Myko McFly, and Vee launched the Southern rap group in 2006, playing two years of gigs and showcases before "Swag Surfin'" caught the ear of L.A. Reid. The Grammy Award-winning record executive signed F.L.Y. to Def Jam within a week of first hearing the track, and re-released the cut in the spring of 2009. It soon began to hit on a national level, thanks in part to the Atlanta Hawks, who adopted "Swag Surfin'" as their unofficial theme during the 2009 NBA playoffs. ~ David Jeffries, All Music Guide
