Fam First

Artist Info

Formed

2000 Boston, MA

Biography

The Team 220 Records label and its corresponding musical entity, Fam First, came about in 2000 in Boston after a meeting between rapper/entrepreneurs Ernest Taylor (aka Big "CEO" Red) and Quentin Lewis (aka Que Barbah). Establishing themselves as CEO and president, they set out to construct a family-styled label of hip-hop artists not unlike Irv Gotti's Murder Inc. crew. Their first roster signee was a Lynn, MA-based rapper called 360 Degrees who had opened for such artists as Benzino, Redman, Method Man, Major Figgas, and Trina. Killarochi (born Rahhshan Barnes in Yonkers, NY) and Jimmy Cash (aka J-Dot Com) of Charleston, SC, were the next two additions, followed by Boston's Twin Ramada (born Terrence Occeus). The resulting Team 200 Fam collective released the Fam-First album on their own Team 220 Records label in January 2003. A second compilation, Streets 101, Vol. 1, was planned for release later in the year. ~ Joseph McCombs, All Music Guide
