Biography

Hailing from the suburbs of Cleveland, OH, Driver Side Impact began innocently enough in 2004 when guitarist Jack McGinty and bassist Teddy Feighan started writing and playing together. They eventually sought the force of a full band and thus recruited vocalist Branden Langhals, drummer Zach Evans, keyboardist/vocalist Austin Bishop, and guitarist/vocalist Mikey Arnold to round out the band's infectious sound, described as "kinetically radiant rock." Shows around the area saw them building up a notable local following, and Driver Side Impact released the EP We Will Disappear in October 2006. They soon garnered interest from Chicago's Victory Records, inking a deal with the label by the year's end. The sextet's debut, The Very Air We Breathe, benefitted from production by Sal Villanueva (Taking Back Sunday, Thursday); it included a few re-recordings of songs from their EP upon its May 2007 release. ~ Corey Apar, All Music Guide
