Biography

Dreamboy was a mid-'80s R&B/funk band signed to Quincy Jones' Qwest Records distributed by Warner Bros. Its lineup was singer Jeff Stanton, guitarist Jeff Bass, keyboardist Jimi Hunt, and bassist and drummer George "Dewey" Twymon. The group was started at Oak Park, MI's Oak Park High School. Their sole hit was the ballad "Don't Go," which hit number 17 R&B on Billboard's R&B chart in early 1984. Its follow-up was another ballad, "I Promise (I Do Love You)," which made it to number 45 R&B in fall 1984. ~ Ed Hogan, All Music Guide
