Delivering full-pulsing tunes of an extreme combination between electronic options and powerful rock lineaments, Seattle's Doll Factory present new approaches to the progress of industrial rock. Constituted by Garrick Antikajian and Chris Roy, the duo has been playing and writing compositions together since the end of the '80s. Sharing music influences coming from acts like the Cure or Nitzer Ebb, they first assembled using the designation of Crown of Thorns, along with drummer Rick Molloy. Their efforts included not only musical construction, but also poetic multimedia interpretations of artistic works, like George Orwell's 1984. However, they soon decided to change their designation, and inspired by Picasso's painting, Guernica was born. Along with drummer Quentin Furrow and bassist Travis Harrison they recorded several demo tapes and self-released cassettes, before Antikajian decided to leave in the mid-'90s. Roy, who remained with Guernica, soon found out that his path was not the same without Antikajian lyrical contributions, and it was by then that the two reunited as the Doll Factory. Releasing their first disc, the EP Premonition in 1999, the crew has also appeared in several compilations, while working on their debut full-length. ~ Mario Mesquita Borges, All Music Guide
