Doc Walker

Artist Info

Biography

Country trio Doc Walker had their origins in small-town Manitoba, Canada, where guitarists, vocalists, and songwriters Chris Thorsteinson, Dave Wasyliw, and Murray Pulver grew up together in Portage La Prairie. By the time Thorsteinson and Wasyliw were 14 years old (Pulver was three years older), they had already formed the group Freedom and were doing local gigs. In time the name morphed into Doc Walker and it became just Thorsteinson and Wasyliw working socials, fairs, and campgrounds as a duo. They released Good Day to Ride in 1997, then brought guitar ace Pulver into the mix for 2001's Curve, 2003's Everyone Aboard (which yielded the radio hits "I Am Ready" and "The Show Is Free"), and 2006's self-titled Doc Walker, which won Album of the Year at 2007's Canadian Country Music Awards. Beautiful Life appeared in 2008. ~ Steve Leggett, All Music Guide
