DJ Baby Anne

Artist Info

Biography

Club impresario DJ Baby Anne introduced herself as one of the defining mixers of the latter '90s, not to mention becoming one of the few female bass DJs matching the vibrance of her fellow counterparts such as Alice Deejay and Debbie Deb. Inspired by friend and dance guru DJ Icey, Baby Anne bought her first set of Technics in 1992 and heavily absorbed the skills of her mentor. Early on, the two played gigs together and Baby Anne quickly shared her passion of breakbeats and electro-bass in and around the Miami club circuit.

She's released six singles on DJ Icey's imprint Zone Records as well as issuing tracks to the Phattraxx compilation Bass Queen: In Mix (A Bass & Breaks Continuous Mix) in 1999. In July 2000, Baby Anne became a household mixer for Phattraxx, holding a residency at Icon in Orlando. During this time, she also released Bass Queen: In the Mix, Vol. 2. ~ MacKenzie Wilson, All Music Guide
