Mexican-born singer Dinora Abán Ugalde began singing at a very young age, participating in her neighborhood church chorus and performing at parties and special events. At the age of 15, the talented young woman formed her own band, Juventud Norteña, and made her debut album, Tierra Caliente, which was produced by Alfonso de León and featured the hit single "Sin Brincar Un Renglón." Nevertheless, her group disbanded soon afterwards. When Dinora Abán Ugalde met bass player Juan Arturo Gutiérrez, a new band was formed to participate in a local contest called Cartas Musicales.
