Folk singer and songwriter David Anderson was born in San Luis Obispo, CA. He grew up in the caring shadow of an older sister who happened to love music. That being the case, he was influenced early on by big-name artists such as Jerry Lee Lewis, Josh White, and even Fats Domino. Anderson began his study of music by taking piano lessons when he was in the third grade. By the time he was 19, he was a full-fledged member of a rock & roll band called People. During his long musical career Anderson has performed at countless coffeehouses and folk festivals and worked with artists like Richard Thompson, Tish Hinojosa, John Prine, Catie Curtis, "Ramblin'" Jack Elliott, and many others. In 1997, Anderson released his first album, Mad at the Moon, recorded under the Moccasin Telegraph Music label. "The Edge of Yes," "Working Girl," and "Nicoleen" are some of the acoustic folk-styled tunes that fans can enjoy on this fantastic full-length debut. Although there was a wide gap in recording, Anderson began work in late 2000 on an uplifting sophomore album filled with new numbers. ~ Charlotte Dillon, All Music Guide
