The electronica duo Darwa involved themselves with one of music's ever-changing genres at the start of the new millennium. Frontwoman/guitarist Darja Klancar and programmer Mario Marlot were practically a half a world away when Zimar Minagault of Abstrakt Reality Records in Los Angeles discovered their electro-fusion on MP3.com. The two, who are natives of Slovenia, had been involved in various bands since their teens; Klancar fronted several punk oriented groups since 14, whereas Marlot played with the successful punk jazz band Miladojka. Darwa, however, was more carefree with its dark dance anthems, weaving in Detroit techno loops and textured jazz aesthetic. More Life More Trouble marked their debut, issued on Abstrakt Reality in spring 2001. ~ MacKenzie Wilson, All Music Guide
