Biography

According to the official bio of the quirky electroclash Crack: W.A.R. (which stands for "We Are Rock"), the band was "spawned as a cough syrup-fueled dream" in the Midwest in 1995. Founder King Riff later moved to San Francisco and presented the band with a revolving door's worth of performers until meeting synthesizer maven Obscuratron. Soon vocalists L'Erin and Le Kim were added, and the lineup was set. In 2001 Fcute Records released their debut, a split 12" with Ann Arbor, MI's Wolf Eyes. Cassettes, 7"s, and 3" CDs followed on Fcute, Kimosciotic, and Folding, and the band toured America and Japan. Wide exposure came when Tigerbeat6 released Silent Fantasy in 2002 followed by Cosmic Mind Flight a year later. Future plans include a remixed/remastered version of Silent Fantasy and a 12" for the taste-making electro label International Deejay Gigolo. ~ David Jeffries, All Music Guide
