When songwriter/accordionist Humberto Judex and vocalist Carlos Mario Olivella first came together as the vallenato-pop duo Ciclon, it was to play weddings and other celebrations around their native Colombia. Word of mouth spread and soon Ciclon were filling the bars and discotecas not only in Colombia but also in Puerto Rico, Panama, and Miami, FL. Their self-titled debut appeared in 2005 on the Sony International label and went on to receive a nomination for Best Contemporary Tropical Album at the 2006 Latin Grammy Awards. ~ David Jeffries, All Music Guide
