Originally known as Stary Hadry, Czech group Chinaski first came together in 1987. The band changed its name as an homage to writer Charles Bukowski in 1994. Their first album, the self-titled Chinaski, was released in 1994. A groove-oriented rock band, Chinaski would have a prolific and popular career in their native country, with 2007's 7 hitting the top of the album charts there. ~ Chris True, All Music Guide
