Accompanying herself on six and twelve string acoustic guitar, Cheryl Dilcher produced three albums of her poetic tunes between 1973 and 1977. Unfortunately, she arose on the scene at a time when the popularity of acoustic music was at a lull. Although her first two albums -- Butterfly in 1973 and Magic, the following year -- were released on A&M, neither sold and her contract was not renewed. She fared no better with hr third album, Blue Sailor, released on her own Butterfly label in 1977.Currently residing in Los Angeles, Dilcher continues to perform in small clubs and has developed a second career as an actor in local theater productions. ~ Craig Harris, All Music Guide
