This drummer barely gets a foot in the door of the discographical den, maybe because the baritone saxophone case of the unrelated and prolifically recorded Charles Davis was blocking access. He was a good drummer from the company he kept and the styles he was involved in, backing up Nina Simone on both credited and uncredited appearances and showing up on a fine Gloria Coleman funky organ album. ~ Eugene Chadbourne, All Music Guide
