Kind of in the same line and style as popular acts like Brooks & Dunn, Montgomery Gentry, and the Mavericks was born the Los Angeles-based duo called Brother Johnson. The contemporary country duo consists of Tim Pilcher and Bryce Johnson. Both members contribute equally when it comes to the music and the songwriting. Each also brings to Brother Johnson plenty of experience from years severed with other bands. After some time to establish themselves, Pilcher and Johnson moved to the home of country music: Nashville. The group's self-titled debut album hit the shelves in 2000. "Nothing Gonna Keep Me Away From You," "It's Just Me," "That Ain't the Way It's Supposed to Be," and "The Reason I Come Home" are some of the excellent tracks on this first album. Along with original lyrics, Brother Johnson manages to stir in just enough pop flavor to its contemporary country tunes to keep the beat moving and the sound up to date. ~ Charlotte Dillon, All Music Guide
