Despite their name, the rock band Brighton, MA are based in Chicago, IL. Brighton, MA, the location, is actually where the group's leader, singer/songwriter/guitarist/keyboard player Matthew Kerstein, was born. Kerstein was in the Chicago group the Scotland Yard Gospel Choir, which disbanded after recording a debut album in 2003. Brighton, MA is in effect a reorganized configuration based on the earlier outfit.
