Biography

Bootleg was an engaging country band that formed in Vancouver, Canada, around the end of the '70s. Members consisted of singers and guitarists Gerry King and Ron Irving, drummer Dan Proulx, and keyboardist and guitarist Bryan Nelson. The latter spent almost a decade with the group before being replaced by keyboardist Peter Morris in 1986. The band faded away around 1991.

During Bootleg's long life, it worked under the Heart Records label first, and then switched to Rana Records. The group released its debut single in 1979, and although the guys never managed to complete an album, they did record at least one or two enjoyable singles a year for the next 11 years, including one big hit, "In My Arms Tonight." Some of the other tunes by the group are "Queen of Hearts," "Champagne and Roses," "The Cowboy Thing to Do," "Weekend Country," and "Bluebird Lullaby." ~ Charlotte Dillon, All Music Guide
