Biography

RSS
Vocalists and guitarists George Barton and Mark Sweeney are the duo that makes up Barton & Sweeney. The pair from Tulsa, OK, has known each other for somewhere around two decades and been performing together for better than half of that time. In 1995, Barton & Sweeney released a debut album, River Red. It took four long years of waiting for the sophomore offering On the Timeline to show up. In between those two recordings, the duo traveled through the United States, performing at festivals and fairs, growing a loyal fan base along the way. "Safer Haven," "Losing You the Last Time," "We're an Americana Band," "Scenery," "If You Drink You Die," "Sweet Voice," and "Take a Little Less" are some of the country-flavored folk tunes fans can give a try from Barton & Sweeney's albums. ~ Charlotte Dillon, All Music Guide
