Not to be confused with the jazz keyboardist and arranger Archie "Skip" Hall, this Hall skips the nickname and gets right down to the nitty gritty, a description that any listener who has encountered rappers such as Killer Mike or Slim Calhoun would understand. Hall's engineering credits don't mean he can simply say all he did was roll the tape and turn on the machines, blameless as a choir boy for the ensuing stream of cussing.
