Andriette Redmann, a gifted singer and songwriter, spent her interesting childhood on a farm in the little rural town of Fish Creek, WI. It wasn't a normal farm and she certainly didn't have what most would call a normal upbringing. Her parents turned the farm into something of an artist colony, but maybe that has a little to do with all of the creative energy Redmann seems to possess and even share with others around her. Redmann first began to perform for audiences on her farm when she was hardly old enough for school. Her aunt, an accordionist, encouraged and inspired her. Once grown, Redmann left Wisconsin behind and headed straight for New York City. Things in the big city worked out almost like a dream for the young artist. In almost no time she had a recording contract and then was sent overseas for promotional gigs. In real life, dreams do have an awful habit of ending and of sometimes switching from good to nightmares and Redmann's dreams took a turn for the worse. Both of her parents became ill, one right behind the other. During their illnesses, Redmann put her musical career aside and returned home to tend to them. In a very short order, she lost both of her parents to one enemy. One she couldn't even fight -- cancer. After time to grieve and heal, Redmann returned to the comfort of her music. In 2000, she released a debut album, Into Heaven, with her band, Sun Palace. Members of the group are guitarists John Rokosny and Tony Geballe, percussionist Jay Brotter, drummer Mark Brotter, and bassist Scott Kelleher. Some of the tracks on this first offering are "There Once Was a Time," "In Somebody's Eyes," "Path of Heart," "Skating Away on the Thin Ice of the New Day," and "Are You Thinking of Me." ~ Charlotte Dillon, All Music Guide
