This brilliant, yet little-known, German artist has a flair for combining refined ambiences with driving funk bass lines and rock beats. His well-constructed melodies and improvisations are often quite catchy, while his song titles and symbolic sonic imagery are lined with social commentary. Classically trained, Leifeld makes a living as a music teacher in Paderborn, Germany, and his modest apartment is overrun with all manner of electronic gadgetry.
