Singer Amy Holland scored a Top 30 hit with her soft rock track "How Do I Survive" in 1980. The song, taken from her album Amy Holland, was produced by Doobie Brother Michael McDonald and featured several notable musicians of the time, including Mike Porcaro, Tom Scott, and Bill Payne. She had a minor hit two years later, singing a duet on "Ain't Nothing Like the Real Thing/You're All I Need to Get By" with Chris Christian. In 1983, she issued On Your Every Word, but it failed to attract an audience. Since then, she has appeared on records as a backing vocalist, including releases by Christian group First Call and McDonald, to whom she has been married for two decades. The EMI label finally issued On Your Every Word on CD in 2005. ~ Tom Demalon, All Music Guide
