Biography

Saint Ex, Nos Annees Pension (or N.A.P., as it's called among fans) was launched on France 2 in February of 2007. The television series, which documents the lives, trials, loves, and ultimately musical collaborations of a group of friends at a boarding school, was created by Raphaelle Desplechin, and quickly became one of the year's breakout successes. The cast of characters and archetypes includes Rose (the rebel), Milo (the dreamer), Sam (the jolly), Morgane (the sentimentalist), and Amel (the always studious). Though their personalities are different, they are united by a love for music, and start a group together. Throughout the course of the series the youths share the wide range of emotions their lives have to offer: love, jealousy, joy, and (of course) jealousy. At the conclusion of the show's first season, Nos Annees Pension was released by Universal Music. The record featured seven songs written and played by the band in the course of the season, rounded out by other music featured on the show. Sung by cast members Josephine Jobert (Amel) and Lilly-Fleur Pointeaux (Morgane), the record capitalized on the success of the show, making it to the Top 100 on national charts. ~ Evan C.
